Tonya Kelly, MSW, RSW
Registered Social Worker, Co-Director
"For what it's worth... it's never too late... to be whoever you want to be. There is no time limit. Start whenever you want. You can change or stay the same. There are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it"
- F. Scott Fitzgerald
Tonya Kelly is a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. She has experience working with both inpatient and outpatient populations across a variety of settings, including Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences, community mental health agencies, and private practice. Tonya holds a Master of Social Work from Wilfrid Laurier University, a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Psychology, and a Human Services Counsellor Diploma from George Brown College.
Tonya understands that life can present unexpected challenges. You may feel overwhelmed by stress, anxiety, depression, or the impact of trauma. You may feel stuck in a relationship, life transition, or difficult situation and you’re unsure how to move forward. If any of this resonates, you are not alone. Tonya is committed to providing a safe, compassionate, and non-judgmental space where clients feel heard, supported, and validated. There isn't any pain, too big or too small, that isn't worth talking about. Her goal is to help individuals and couples transform pain into empowerment so they can move toward a more meaningful, connected, and fulfilling life. Tonya is particularly passionate about supporting First Responders and their families, recognizing the unique pressures of the work culture and the cumulative impact of exposure to traumatic events.
Tonya uses a collaborative and individualized approach to therapy, drawing from a range of evidence-based modalities tailored to each person’s unique needs. Tonya has completed Level 2 Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy, and uses this in her practice with couples. She is also trained in a variety of other evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), mindfulness-based approaches, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). As an EMDRIA Certified Therapist™ and Consultant in Training (CIT), Tonya also provides both individual and group consultation to clinicians pursuing EMDR Certification or looking to deepen their EMDR practice and skills.
When Tonya is not at work, she enjoys playing pickleball, practicing yoga, being in nature and planning her next travel adventure.
