Michelle Reis, MACP, B.A Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)

 
 
 

Michelle is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with extensive experience providing counselling and psychotherapy in clinical settings to adults and youth 14+. She uses evidence-based modalities to assess and treat a diverse range of mental health concerns, including mood and anxiety disorders, addiction, emotion dysregulation, loneliness, social anxiety, and self-esteem.

Michelle Reis has training and experience in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotion-Focused Therapy, Existential Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and other mindfulness-based approaches. She practices from a trauma-informed lens and values a collaborative, client-centred approach to therapy. Her style is warm, compassionate, and non-judgmental.

Michelle completed her Bachelor of Arts in Forensic Psychology in 2015. In 2017, she completed a post-graduate certificate in Addiction and Mental Health in 2017 which allowed her to work in clinical settings and work as an addiction counsellor. In 2025 she completed her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. She has clinical and professional experience working at Pinewood Centre and in private practice, and volunteered with Distress Centre Durham. She also has extensive experience facilitating CBT, DBT, and process groups for substance use.

Outside of work, she spends time kickboxing, doing hot yoga, or meditating by the lake with her husky.
