Dr. Erica Martin is a registered Clinical Psychologist with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. She obtained her Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto, and completed both her Masters and Doctorate degrees in Clinical Psychology at York University. Prior to her current role in private practice, she was employed at Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences as a forensic psychologist, conducting both assessment and therapy with individuals who have severe and persistent mental illness and who have been found Not Criminally Responsible (NCR). Additionally, Dr. Martin has worked and trained in a number of settings, including community agencies, general hospitals, student mental health centers, and mental health facilities. Dr. Martin has been involved in the supervision of students at various levels of graduate training in psychology, and has given talks at various community venues about topics such as the forensic mental health system, work-life balance, mental health concerns in the workplace, and working compassionately with people who hear voices.

Dr. Martin individualizes treatment for each client; everyone is unique, and she will draw from a variety of modalities when developing a treatment plan. Dr. Martin has been trained in a variety of therapy modalities, including Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills, Mindfulness-based therapy techniques, and more recently Eye Movement Desensitization and Retraining (EMDR) as well as somatic therapy techniques. 

In her free time, Dr. Martin enjoys spending time with friends and family, going for walks with her dog, practicing yoga, and traveling.
