daring greatly (v.)
The courage to be vulnerable, to show up and be seen. To ask for what you need, to talk about how you’re feeling, to have the hard conversations.

- Brené Brown

Dr. Erica Martin is a registered Clinical Psychologist with the College of Psychologists and Behavioural Analysts of Ontario (CPBAO). She completed her Bachelor of Science at the University of Toronto and went on to earn her Master’s and Doctorate degrees in Clinical Psychology from York University.

Before entering private practice, Dr. Martin worked at Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences as a forensic psychologist, providing assessment and therapy for individuals navigating severe and persistent mental health challenges within the forensic system. She has also trained and worked in a range of clinical settings, including hospitals, community agencies, and university counselling centres, and has provided supervision and mentorship to graduate students in psychology.

In her current practice, Dr. Martin focuses primarily on helping clients heal from trauma. Her approach is holistic and grounded in the understanding that trauma lives not only in our thoughts but also in our bodies—and that true healing often requires more than traditional talk therapy. She integrates mind-body and evidence-based approaches such as Internal Family Systems (IFS, Level 1 trained), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), mindfulness-based techniques, and somatic therapies.

Dr. Martin is especially passionate about supporting Veterans, First Responders, and others who have experienced overwhelming stress or trauma. She works collaboratively with each client to create a treatment plan that honours their individual needs, pace, and strengths.

Outside of her professional work, Dr. Martin enjoys spending time with friends and family, going for walks with her dog, practicing yoga, and exploring new places through travel.
