CORE Therapy and Assessment Centre was founded in 2018 by Dr. Erica Martin and Tonya Kelly with the belief that healing begins in a safe, compassionate, and inclusive environment. The name CORE, and our spiral logo, were developed to capture our belief that turning inward and getting to know your core self is a lifelong journey. We pride ourselves on offering holistic services tailored to your unique experiences. What began as a small practice has grown into a multidisciplinary team of talented clinicians hand-picked by Tonya and Erica. We believe that having a warm and collegial work environment translates into even better care for our clients. Our team includes psychologists, registered social workers, registered psychotherapists, and wellness providers with diverse specialties and backgrounds. We are committed to thoughtful therapist matching to ensure that you feel supported, understood, and empowered throughout your journey.
Our Bowmanville team prides itself on creating a positive client experience from the moment you walk through our doors. You can help yourself to a warm cup of coffee or tea to bring comfort and a feeling of ease into your session. Our administrative team is a warm welcome when you arrive, there to offer assistance and answer any questions you may have. Our therapy spaces are thoughtfully designed to feel warm, comforting, and welcoming. We offer both in-person and virtual sessions to make care accessible and flexible to meet your needs.
In Bowmanville, we are committed to supporting first responders and offer early intervention and preventative care through our First Responder’s Clinic. Our therapists understand the unique occupational stressors associated with these roles and provide trauma-informed and evidence-based treatment that are helpful for working in high-stress environments. Not a first responder? We also provide a wide range of therapeutic and assessment services for children, adolescence, adults, couples, and families.
Unique to the Bowmanville location is our groups and workshop offerings, which include: Hot Stone Sound Bath, Couples Sound Bath, Breathwork, Empowered Girl Project for kids and teens, yoga classes for somatic healing, as well as Never Forgotten, which is a peer led support group for suicide survivors. We also offer NeurOptimal® Neurofeedback brain training, Reiki, and somatic nervous system healing.
