Does your child struggle with the demands of school, managing their emotions, staying focused, or remembering information? Witnessing your child struggle in any aspect of life can be very painful for a parent. It is hard to know what to do, or who to turn to for help. A psycho-educational assessment can help kids, families, and teachers understand how each student processes information to know more about what’s getting in the way of their learning. By understanding each child’s unique learning profile, adults can help students remove the barriers to success and provide opportunities to nurture their strengths.

Stephanie Wilson is a Psychological Associate, with an M.A. in Educational and Counselling Psychology from McGill University and a B.A.(Hon) in Psychology from Western and Queen's University. She has over 20 years of experience in School Psychology and is a registered member of the College of Psychologists of Ontario.

Stephanie provides assessment and consultation with children and adolescents who are experiencing a mismatch between their current skill set and the combined demands of the curriculum and educational system. Stephanie believes that behavioral, attentional, academic, learning, and social-emotional challenges (e.g., Autism, ADHD, Learning Disorders, Intellectual Disabilities, anxiety) can often result in lagging skills, making it harder for children and adolescents to develop the skill sets needed to meet the expectations of their environments. Struggling to meet expectations can create a stress cycle that is hard to break, causing distress, and upsetting levels of frustration and dysregulation. A psychological assessment is a great first step to getting the support your child needs.

Outside of work, Stephanie enjoys reading, community theatre, trying new sports, listening to podcasts, and hanging out with friends and family.
