Mikayla McFadden, B.A., Psych.
Psychometrist
Mikayla McFadden is a psychometrist who works with children, adolescents, and adults to support the psychological assessment process. She administers standardized measures that assess cognitive, academic, and social-emotional functioning to assist in the diagnosis and understanding of conditions such as ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, and learning disabilities.
Mikayla works under the supervision of both Kerrie McFadden and Lori McGrimmon. Through this dual supervision, she contributes to a wide range of assessments and has a particular focus on ADHD-specific evaluations in her work with Lori. This has further fueled her interest in attention and executive functioning, as well as the broader impact of neurodevelopmental differences on learning and daily life.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Ontario Tech University and is committed to continued growth in the field of psychological assessment. Her academic foundation, combined with daily hands-on experience, has shaped a thoughtful and informed approach to client care.
Mikayla brings a personal perspective to her work: she was diagnosed with ADHD at age 19, after navigating her own educational journey without a clear understanding of the challenges she was facing. That lived experience gives her a deep sense of empathy for individuals—especially children—who may be struggling without knowing why. She’s passionate about helping others access the clarity and support she knows can make a significant difference.
Mikayla strives to create a warm, comfortable, and non-judgmental environment during the assessment process. She understands that testing can feel unfamiliar or even intimidating and works to ensure that clients—especially young ones—feel seen, heard, and supported. She believes that psychological assessment is not just about identifying difficulties but also about discovering strengths and building a path forward.
Dedicated to lifelong learning, Mikayla continues to expand her knowledge in areas related to ADHD, learning disorders, and neurodiversity. Her goal is to empower clients and families with the insight and tools they need to thrive in school, at work, and in everyday life.
