Lori McGrimmon completed her Masters of Psychology degree from Adler Graduate Professional School and is currently a Registered Psychotherapist in good standing with the College of Registered Psychotherapists. She plans to pursue registration as a Psychological Associate with the College of Psychologists of Ontario.  Ms. McGrimmon completed a Bachelor of Arts degree with honours from the University of Guelph with a major in psychology and a minor in child development. In addition, Ms. McGrimmon has a Bachelor of Education degree from Brock University and spent 18 years teaching in an elementary school classroom.

Ms. McGrimmon works from a trauma-informed lens. She also uses the Cognitive Behavioural framework to understand the interactions between thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. If you are seeking treatment after a traumatic experience, Ms. McGrimmon uses both the Cognitive Processing Protocol (CPT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help process the traumatic event(s). She also draws on the strategies of Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) to help her clients build adaptive coping strategies.


Ms. McGrimmon works with transitional-aged youth (18 to 24 years of age), first responders, and adults. She has a particular interest in the following areas, including (but not limited to):

  • Anxiety disorders

  • Depression

  • OCD

  • Diagnostic and personality assessment

  • PTSD and trauma

  • Workplace stress

  • Life transitions

  • Relationship Challenges

Monday 9:00 am - 5:00 pm (in person)
