Cynda Ashton is a Registered Social Worker in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.  She has completed a Bachelor of Psychology at the University of British Columbia as well as a Master of Social Work and a Master of Public Health at the University of Toronto.

​Ms. Ashton has experience working with preteens, teens, and young adults and has practiced both individual and family therapy in various hospital and community settings. She uses a variety of therapeutic approaches in her work including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Family-Based Treatment (FBT), and Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT). ​Ms. Ashton strives to create a supportive environment where youth and families feel comfortable and able to share. She uses a non-judgemental, anti-oppressive, and trauma-informed approach and aims to empower clients to work towards healing and making changes in their lives at their own pace. 


Ms. Ashton has expertise in a variety of areas, including (but not limited to):

  • Family transitions (separation/divorce, pregnancy, blended family, parent-teen conflict, etc.)

  • Eating disorders

  • Sexual orientation and gender identity

 

Hours of availability:

Monday 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm (in person)

Friday 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm (virtual)
