Dr. Erica Martin is a registered Clinical and Forensic Psychologist with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. She obtained her Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto, and completed both her Masters and Doctorate degrees in Clinical Psychology at York University. Prior to her current role as a forensic and clinical psychologist in private practice, she was employed at Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences as a forensic psychologist, conducting both assessment and therapy with individuals who have severe and persistent mental illness and who have been found Not Criminally Responsible (NCR). Additionally, Dr. Martin has worked and trained in a number of settings, including community agencies, general hospitals, student mental health centers, and mental health facilities. She has completed numerous forensic psychological assessments for clients in both criminal and civil domains, and has provided expert testimony when necessary.
Dr. Martin has been involved in the supervision of students at various levels of graduate training in psychology, and has given talks at various community venues about topics such as the forensic mental health system, work-life balance, mental health concerns in the workplace, and working compassionately with people who hear voices.
In her free time, Dr. Martin enjoys spending time with friends and family, going for walks with her dog, practicing yoga, and traveling.
